The origin of the pork that ends up in our
supermarkets and ultimately on our plate has shocked many people.
That's why we have decided to offer 'Adopt a Free Range Porky Pig' to everyone interested in knowing how their pork is raised.
The beauty of this scheme is that
you do not need to own land or even own a pair of wellingtons. You get
to choose a pig to be reared from start to finish and get the
satisfaction that the pig that you adopted will be the best pork you
have ever tasted. You will know how it has been reared and where it has
been reared.
You choose your pure bred Gloucester Old Spot pig and visit the farm if you wish
Your pig is then slowly reared using traditional methods i.e free
range, no unnecessary medication and given lots of attention and affection.
You will be sent an adoption certificate, photo's and receive regular updates by email.
At between 6 months and 10 months old your pig will go to slaughter and
you will be asked to tell us how you would like your pork jointed.
Your pork will then be delivered to your door ready for the freezer.
The total cost of the pig is £295 which is split into 3 payments of
£75.00 and one payment of £70.00. A deposit is paid via this site and then payment requests are sent to you by
email at the 4 month stage, at
the 5 month stage and then a last payment prior to slaughter
